HYPNOSIS / HYPNOTHERAPY
The cornerstone of our alternative medicine practice is hypnotherapy. We believe hypnosis, guided meditation and hypnotherapy are the most beneficial and healing of our holistic services.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, it occurs naturally when you're first awake, falling asleep, watching TV, and many activities where you are totally focused and relaxed. The use of guided meditation is the most effective technique to help ease one into a hypnotic trance.
Hypnotherapy is interactive. During sessions, one speaks to the hypnotherapist while in a hypnotic trance. This has been studied and is widely considered one of the quickest ways to bring about positive change.
According to American Health Magazine:
Psychoanalysis 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Behavior Therapy 72% recovery after 22 sessions
Hypnotherapy 92% recovery after 6 sessions
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive and that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Eating healthy is a large part of living well. Knowing what to eat and how to make healthy alternatives to your favorite foods is the main focus of our nutrition and cooking wellness program. This practice aims to teach you how to prepare quick, healthy and delicious meals for you and your family from a mix of fresh and prepared ingredients.
Tai Chi is a type of martial art very well known for its defense techniques and health benefits. The martial art has evolved over the years into an effective means of alleviating stress and anxiety. It has been considered to be a form of 'meditation in motion' which promotes serenity and inner peace.
A medical massage is an outcome-based massage. The application of the treatment is targeted to the specific ailment the patient has that has been diagnosed by a physician and is administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving various methods such as penetration by thin needles, heat, pressure, or laser light. The purpose of the practice is to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of the qi through the individual. Though acupuncture aims to treat a range of conditions, it is most commonly used for pain relief.
Lymphedema refers to swelling that generally occurs in one of your arms or legs caused by a blockage in your lymphatic system, an important part of your immune and circulatory systems. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well, and as the fluid builds up, the swelling continues. Lymphedema is most commonly caused by the removal of or damage to your lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment.
To help manage this condition we offer lymphedema wrapping and massage to encourage the flow of the lymph fluid away from the swollen areas.
Yoga is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation. The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj", which means "to yoke" the spirit and physical body together. Modified to suit all levels of fitness, yoga has been proved to lower blood pressure and increase flexibility and strengthen the body.
